The second domestically produced large cruise ship by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding has its first batch of prefabricated cabins onboard.
On March 5th, the first batch of prefabricated cabins for the second domestically produced large cruise ship H1509 was successfully loaded onto the ship at Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding. The company's deputy general manager Zhou Qi attended the ceremony.
Compared to the first ship, the total dry dock period for the H1509 ship has been compressed by nearly 8 months, and the number of prefabricated cabins has increased from 912 to 1109. Faced with the increase in engineering volume and the reduction in construction period, the difficulty of construction control and coordination has significantly increased. To overcome these dual challenges, the cabin team has innovatively implemented three major strategies: for the first time, advancing the push cabin nodes of 172 prefabricated cabins on the first and second decks to the "pre-floating" stage; conducting model balancing and path interference analysis in collaboration with the design institute at the source of design; and introducing high-precision laser scanning technology to establish a millimeter-level spatial control system to achieve digital pre-control of production deviations. Through process advancement and lean planning management, a "zero gap" connection between background engineering delivery and interior decoration entry has been successfully achieved.
Zhou Qi stated that the prefabricated cabin project is a core part of the cruise ship interior decoration, requiring the cabin team to establish a cross-departmental collaboration mechanism, closely coordinating the construction delivery of various departments in the background and the work of the debugging team, laying a solid foundation for on-time delivery in 2026.
In the next phase, the cabin team will focus on the push cabin work, collaborating with relevant departments to promote the completion and handover of background engineering, proactively addressing interference issues, ensuring smooth push cabin paths on all deck levels, and ensuring that the overall push cabin plan is completed on time and with quality.
Chen Jianwei, the factory leader of China Classification Society and RINA Classification Society, assistant general manager of Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding, Wu Xiaoyuan, director, as well as heads of various major departments, representatives of cabin general contractors, and relevant personnel from the cruise ship interior decoration department attended the ceremony.
