140 million! Two shipyards receive orders for 14 new energy vessels
Capitalizing on the national large-scale equipment renewal policy, Jiangnan Shipbuilding Company (Jishui Jiangnan Shipyard) in Jishui County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province, and the Wan'an County Shipping Company Shipbuilding and Repairing Plant (Wan'an Shipyard) successfully signed orders for 14 LNG new energy vessels this year, with a total value exceeding 140 million yuan. Construction of 4 vessels has already commenced, marking a new chapter for Ji'an's shipbuilding industry.
Established in 2015, Jishui Jiangnan Shipyard has invested nearly 80 million yuan in fixed assets. It is the only enterprise in south-central Jiangxi that meets the national shipbuilding industry standards for Grade Two, Category Three steel general vessels. The shipyard covers an area of 40 mu (approximately 2.7 hectares), with buildings totaling 11,000 square meters and an open-air slipway of 10,000 square meters. Jishui County has completed a 20-mu expansion plan for Jishui Jiangnan Shipyard, laying the foundation for the company's expansion.
Jishui Jiangnan Shipyard is currently constructing 3 LNG new energy vessels, each 88 meters long and 5000 tons, with an estimated delivery date of June this year. These new vessels use LNG as their sole fuel, reducing harmful emissions and lowering energy consumption and operating costs through optimized hull design and advanced navigation technology, bringing higher economic benefits to the shipping industry.
Wan'an Shipyard is a subsidiary of Wan'an County Shipping Company, located in Jianfeng Village, Furong Town. It covers approximately 15 mu (approximately 1 hectare). Its main business includes shipbuilding, repairs (capable of handling new steel and steel-aluminum composite vessel repairs), and annual inspections. It has an annual shipbuilding capacity of nearly 10,000 tons and an annual revenue of approximately 8 million yuan. Its shipbuilding qualifications are for Grade Three, Category Two steel vessels, with the capacity to build inland steel general motor vessels of up to 80 meters in length.
Wan'an Shipyard is planning to introduce social capital to expand its operating scale and business scope. It plans to invest 150 million yuan to increase annual production capacity from the current 10,000 tons to over 30,000 tons and develop container manufacturing and assembly businesses, as well as agency and distribution of ship accessories, including professional instruments and meters, navigation equipment, sails, paints, safety equipment, sanitary ware, and electrical equipment.
The Ji'an City Transportation Bureau played a key role in promoting the high-quality development of "Ji'an-made ships". The bureau, together with multiple departments, formed a support working group to provide precise guidance to Jishui Jiangnan Shipyard, helping the shipyard obtain production condition evaluation certification from the Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, allowing it to be included in the whitelist and obtain compliant shipbuilding qualifications.
To support the efficient development of enterprises, the Ji'an City Transportation Bureau established a special team to provide services throughout the shipbuilding process, significantly shortening the ship inspection cycle, strengthening technical support, and improving the enterprise's shipbuilding capabilities. This resulted in Ji'an City achieving a "zero breakthrough" in ocean-going vessel construction. The Ji'an City Transportation Bureau conducted a special survey on the shipbuilding industry, understanding the development difficulties of enterprises. Through a "special dispatch + supply and demand docking" dual-channel approach, it effectively resolved problems such as land use and financing for enterprises.
