China Shipbuilding Tianjin's 16,000 TEU dual-fuel container ship begins sea trials
On May 5th, the C16K-13, a 16000TEU LNG dual-fuel container ship built by China Shipbuilding Group Dalian Shipbuilding and CSSC Tianjin for Mediterranean Shipping Company, completed its sea trial seven days ahead of the annual plan, officially entering the countdown to delivery.
This vessel is the first ship jointly built by Dalian Shipbuilding's General Assembly Department II and CSSC Tianjin, and also the first container ship built on the small dock production line. Based on the experience gained from previous vessels, this ship again adopts a "two-in-one" sea trial model, integrating test procedures and advancing processes. The underwater cycle was 154 days, and the key cycle was 352 days, shortening the key cycle by 8 days compared to the China Shipbuilding Group's target and by 34 days compared to the C16K-9 vessel.

Faced with a tight schedule and complex commissioning tasks, to ensure the sea trial was on schedule, the project team and the general assembly manufacturing department scientifically coordinated and implemented a reverse schedule, detailing daily work down to the hour and assigning responsibilities to individuals. During the sprint phase, which coincided with the May Day holiday, team members voluntarily gave up their vacation time, prioritizing work and working overtime to complete the commissioning, checking the operating parameters of each system one by one. With the close cooperation of the ship owner and surveyor, all mooring inspections of the generator gas system were completed, and multiple technical requirements proposed by the ship owner were responded to, ensuring the smooth sea trial of the vessel.
Currently, all performance indicators of the ship are excellent, with a sea trial completeness score of 98.5. Next, CSSC Tianjin will continue to strive for excellence, work at full capacity, complete all relevant nodes, and ensure the timely and high-quality delivery of the vessel.
