Jiangnan Shipyard delivers China's first high-speed marine ecological monitoring vessel

On May 11, the "China Huanjian Ji 051" ecological environment law enforcement and monitoring emergency support vessel, built by Jiangxi Jiangxin Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Jiangxi Provincial Military Industry Group, for the Qinhuangdao Ecological Environment Monitoring Center in Hebei Province, set sail from the company's riverside dock and headed to its destination port for delivery and commissioning amidst the sound of enthusiastic whistles.

"China Huanjian Ji 051" is the first nearshore ecological environment protection vessel built by Jiangxin Shipbuilding, designed by the China Shipbuilding Group's No. 605 Institute. This is China's first high-speed marine ecological monitoring vessel and one of the fastest vessels of its kind in the country.

The vessel has an overall length of 57.00 meters, a molded breadth of 10.30 meters, and a molded depth of 4.60 meters; with twin engines, twin propellers, and twin rudders, it has a speed of no less than 15 knots, a cruising range of no less than 1500 nautical miles, and an endurance of 20 days and nights. It is one of the fastest vessels of its kind in the country; its steel hull and high-efficiency power system ensure stability and flexibility when performing tasks in nearshore waters.

The "China Huanjian Ji 051" is equipped with advanced monitoring and emergency equipment, including an A-frame, various types of winches, a multi-functional laboratory, and a microbiology laboratory; the professional instruments carried, such as CTD temperature-salinity-depth profilers and box corers, can efficiently complete the monitoring tasks of water quality, sediments, and biological environment quality in the sea area. At the same time, the vessel is equipped with BeiDou navigation, electronic charts, emergency radar transponders, and other communication and navigation equipment, and also has functions such as marine ecological environment law enforcement evidence collection, emergency support, and coastal patrols during the tourist season.

After its official delivery and commissioning, the "China Huanjian Ji 051" will mainly undertake the tasks of monitoring the water quality, sediments, and biological environment in the waters under the jurisdiction of Qinhuangdao and its adjacent waters; it will perform marine ecological environment law enforcement supervision, comprehensive law enforcement evidence collection, and ecological environment monitoring and patrols in the Qinhuangdao coastal waters during the tourist season, as well as emergency support work.

As an important piece of equipment for China's marine ecological protection, the "China Huanjian Ji 051", with its advanced equipment, comprehensive functions, and high speed, will significantly improve the efficiency of marine environmental monitoring and emergency response capabilities, injecting new impetus into the protection of our blue territory and becoming an important force in China's marine ecological environment monitoring field.
