Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Delivers Aframax Product Tanker Built for Greek Shipowner
On November 19, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding signed off and delivered the 114,000-ton Aframax product tanker "KINAROS," built for Greece's Oceangold Shipping Company, marking the successful completion of this series. Representatives from Greece's Oceangold Shipping Company, China Shipbuilding Industry Trade Co., Ltd., and Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding attended and witnessed the ship delivery and signing ceremony.
The "KINAROS" multipurpose vessel is the final ship in a series built by Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding for Greece’s Oceangold Company. Featuring remarkable characteristics such as being green, environmentally friendly, energy-efficient, safe, and economically viable, it has been highly favored by customers. Throughout the construction process, the project team adhered strictly to the guiding principle of "Three Eliminations and Four Zeroes," meticulously planning and tackling technical challenges while proactively advancing key processes. This disciplined, lean management approach has yielded significant results: the team successfully implemented advanced techniques like total-section boring and semi-ship shafting/installation of propellers, enabling early-stage main engine lifting even at the half-ship stage. Meanwhile, the vessel’s overall integrity during dry-docking and sea trials continued to improve steadily. As a result, both dockyard and terminal construction timelines were effectively shortened, fully highlighting the company’s strengths in lean, large-scale shipbuilding practices.
