Kailin Shipyard has newly signed a contract to build a dual-purpose tugboat capable of both towing and firefighting.
Recently, Zhejiang Kailing Shipyard (Zhoushan 4806 Factory) held a contract-signing ceremony with Wenzhou Port Services Co., Ltd. for the construction of a 6,000-horsepower dual-purpose tugboat capable of both towing and pushing.
The tugboat just signed has a total length of 37.30 meters, a molded breadth of 10.50 meters, a molded depth of 5.04 meters, and a design draft of 3.95 meters. It is primarily used to assist and monitor the berthing and unberthing of large LNG vessels as well as their loading and unloading operations, while also being capable of providing assistance to large container ships and bulk carriers. When necessary, it is also equipped to carry out fire-fighting, emergency rescue, and relief operations in the waters surrounding Wenzhou Port. This tugboat’s design meets the requirements for maritime towing in China’s coastal navigation areas and is well-suited for towing operations in these regions.
