Xinneng Shipbuilding Overfulfills 2025 Delivery Targets
In 2025, New Energy Shipbuilding Industry, guided by the core philosophy of “green and intelligent shipbuilding, and building green and intelligent vessels,” and driven by digital and intelligent innovation, has steadily advanced on the track of inland new-energy vessel manufacturing, delivering an outstanding annual performance. Throughout the year, the company delivered a total of 82 vessels and commenced construction on 108 vessels. In December alone, it delivered 21 vessels and started construction on 14 vessels—exceeding its annual commitments and demonstrating a high-quality development trajectory that injects strong momentum into the growth of China’s inland new-energy vessel industry.
Last year, Xineng Shipbuilding delivered a diverse range of vessel types, spanning the entire spectrum—from the 90-meter LNG-powered container ship, the largest of its kind on the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal, to the 67.6-meter all-electric vessel that has achieved a breakthrough in “zero emissions”; from the 2,000-DWT bulk carrier for Tanzania, which operates extensively overseas, to the 18-meter electric tugboat exported to Cuba. Each of these vessels embodies the company’s strong capacity for independent innovation. As an industry benchmark jointly created by Jining Energy, CIMC Group, CATL, and Wuhan University of Technology, Xineng Shipbuilding’s pioneering vessel designs have achieved breakthroughs in four key technologies: new-energy propulsion systems, low-resistance hull designs, and lightweight hull construction. Compared to conventional vessels, these innovations have reduced resistance by 8%, lowered energy consumption by 4%, cut carbon emissions by 20%, and slashed nitrogen oxide and particulate matter emissions by more than 90%. Moreover, the all-electric vessels have even attained the green standard of “zero pollution and zero emissions,” leveraging “newness” to drive “greenness” and positioning Xineng Shipbuilding as a leader in the green transformation of inland waterway shipping.
Under the empowerment of digital intelligence, production capacity has achieved a leapfrog breakthrough. Behind this remarkable achievement lies the powerful momentum unleashed by smart factories. By 2025, the joint workshop of Xineng Shipbuilding reached a peak monthly production capacity of eight vessels, with segment production increasing by a substantial 330% compared to the beginning of the year. Throughout the year, the company processed over 2.28 million meters of steel and built more than 2,200 segments, efficiently fulfilling order commitments from both domestic and international clients, including France’s CMA CGM Group and Zijin Mining. Ninety automated devices operate efficiently within the workshop; AGV unmanned transport vehicles shuttle back and forth; laser cutting machines perform precision operations; and automatic welding gantry systems run continuously. Compared to traditional shipbuilding methods, this approach has reduced workforce by 57.8% per shift and lowered safety risks by 75%, effectively translating the shift from “manufacturing” to “intelligent manufacturing.” The New Energy Vessel Collaborative Manufacturing Industrial IoT platform spans the entire production process—from production scheduling and energy consumption management to supply chain collaboration and safety monitoring. With end-to-end digital management, every vessel delivery is precisely controllable, showcasing the solid confidence behind “Made in China, Smartly Made.”
In terms of market development, New Energy Shipbuilding has achieved multi-point growth through both domestic and international dual-circulation strategies. In 2025, the company scored a resounding victory in its debut on overseas markets: the vessel ordered by Tanzania was launched ahead of schedule and successfully completed its trial voyage, marking the official entry of China’s inland new-energy vessels into the African market. On the international stage, the company secured an order from France’s CMA CGM Group for 182 TEU electric container ships, earning recognition as the “China Choice” among world-class shipping groups. Meanwhile, in the domestic market, the company continued to deepen its presence by signing a contract with CATL for 50 pure-electric powered vessels and reaching an intent-to-cooperate agreement with Jining Tianhe Dahai Supply Chain for 29 new-energy vessels. Additionally, the company placed its first-ever order for inland yachts and a large-scale order for standardized vessel types, further enhancing its brand influence. At the same time, the second phase of the project officially broke ground in October, and the ship dismantling plant has smoothly commenced the dismantling of its first old vessel. This marks the gradual completion of a full-industry-chain layout encompassing "shipbuilding + ship dismantling + operations and maintenance," thereby building strong momentum for the company’s long-term development.
Behind these prestigious honors lies the company’s unwavering commitment to innovation-driven development and green growth. In 2025, Xineng Shipbuilding was successively recognized as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a National Demonstration Project for Advanced Green and Low-Carbon Technologies, and included in the MIIT’s 5G Factory List. It also received numerous other accolades, including Shandong Province’s Smart Factory designation and selection as a pilot project under the “Gong Fu Bai Jing” initiative. Each of these weighty certificates attests to the company’s outstanding achievements in technological innovation and green manufacturing. Such accomplishments would not have been possible without the support of national policies and the concerted efforts of the entire industrial chain; even more crucially, they are the result of the tireless dedication of all Xineng Shipbuilding employees. The company’s high-quality development has effectively boosted industrial clusters in sectors such as steel, high-end chemicals, and precision manufacturing, injecting new vitality into the Lunan region’s economy and contributing its equipment-manufacturing expertise to the economic revitalization of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal.
The conclusion marks not just the end, but also a new beginning. In 2026, New Energy Shipbuilding will steadily steer ahead, continuing to take technological innovation as its core driving force and intelligent upgrading as a vital support. We will accelerate the construction of Phase II of our projects, deepen our expertise in the R&D and manufacturing of new-energy vessels and in providing comprehensive services across the entire industry chain, and strive to become the “Chinese benchmark” for inland new-energy vessel manufacturing. In doing so, we will contribute even more brilliantly to the realization of the nation’s “dual-carbon” goals and to the high-quality development of inland waterway transportation, writing an even more exciting chapter for our times.
