The Fujian Maritime Bureau Commences Construction of a New Generation 20-Meter Patrol Vessel.
On February 6, 2026, the groundbreaking ceremony for a 20-meter patrol vessel of the Fujian Maritime Bureau was solemnly held at Changzhou Fiberglass Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. This marks the imminent addition of a high-performance, state-of-the-art maritime patrol vessel to Fujian Province’s coastal law enforcement fleet, injecting new momentum into maritime supervision and maritime security along China’s southeastern coast.
After completion, this patrol vessel will be deployed in the coastal waters of Fujian, undertaking daily patrols, maritime supervision, emergency response, and rescue operations, thereby significantly enhancing the Fujian Maritime Bureau’s law enforcement effectiveness and emergency response capabilities.
With the vigorous development of China’s marine economy and the increasing frequency of maritime activities, the demand for high-performance, multi-functional maritime patrol vessels continues to grow. The Changzhou Fiberglass Shipbuilding Factory stated that it will take this opportunity of undertaking the construction of patrol vessels for the Fujian Maritime Bureau as a stepping stone to further enhance the quality of its shipbuilding operations.
This 20-meter-class patrol vessel is expected to be completed and delivered for use by the end of 2026. In the future, the vessel will set sail for the azure waters off Fujian, serving as a vivid microcosm of China’s maritime modernization process and firmly safeguarding the peace and order of those waters.
