Aerospace Ocean and Hainan Navigation signed a contract for the construction of a 21000 ton chemical tanker

On August 23rd, Jiangsu Dayang Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Aerospace Dayang") and Hainan Navigation International Shipping Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Hainan Navigation") held a signing ceremony for the production and construction service project of a 21000 ton chemical tanker (DYOE002). Zhang Haoruo, Chairman and General Manager of Aerospace Ocean, Hu Jingling, Chairman of Hainan Navigation, and other leaders from both sides attended the ceremony together.
The ship is a double bottom double shell, stern type, single engine single propeller chemical tanker designed by Shanghai Junjie Marine Technology Co., Ltd. It has a total length of approximately 159.22 meters, a width of 24.2 meters, a carrying capacity of approximately 21000 tons, and a design speed of approximately 14 knots. This ship is mainly used for loading refined oil and chemicals.
This cooperation not only marks another important breakthrough for Aerospace Ocean in the field of high-end chemical ship construction, but also demonstrates Hainan Navigation's firm determination to expand the international shipping market and improve the level of shipping equipment. The leaders of both sides stated at the signing ceremony that they will take this cooperation as an opportunity to further deepen exchanges and cooperation in shipbuilding, shipping services and other fields.
It is reported that Jiangsu Dayang Marine Equipment Co., Ltd. was established in 2007 and is located in Hongqiao Industrial Park, Taixing City, Jiangsu Province. It is a holding subsidiary of Aerospace Development Co., Ltd., a state-owned listed company under China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation. The total investment of the company is 800 million yuan, and the factory covers an area of 300000 square meters, with a coastline of 500 meters along the Yangtze River.
The latest order marks the return of Aerospace Ocean to the field of chemical ship construction after many years. Clarkson's data shows that the last time Aerospace Ocean received a chemical ship order was in August 2018. It is understood that at that time, Singaporean company LT Marine ordered two 13000 deadweight ton chemical tankers from Aerospace Ocean. These two ships were resold to Nanjing Yangyang Chemical Transport and Trade Co., Ltd. in 2021 and delivered in 2022, respectively. Since then, no chemical tankers have been built in the Aerospace Ocean.
According to Clarkson's data, excluding the latest orders, there are 13 existing orders of 107000 deadweight tons for Aerospace Ocean, including 10 general cargo ships, 2 anchor tugs (AHT) and 1 submarine cable construction ship. The delivery date is scheduled to 2026.
