Southeast Shipbuilding wins orders for four new energy tugboats of two types from Xiamen Port

On September 7th, Southeast Shipbuilding, a subsidiary of Fujian Shipbuilding Administration, signed an order with Xiamen Port Shipping Co., Ltd. for four new energy tugboats, including two 5000 horsepower new energy tugboats and two 4400 horsepower new energy tugboats.
Both types of new energy tugboats are independently developed by Fujian Shipbuilding Research and Design Institute. The 5000 horsepower new energy tugboat has a total length of about 38.30 meters, a width of 10.60 meters, a depth of 4.90 meters, and a battery capacity of about 7300 kW. h; The 4400 horsepower new energy tugboat has a total length of about 37.70 meters, a width of 10.60 meters, a depth of 4.90 meters, a battery capacity of about 6300 kW. h, and a cruising range of not less than 8 hours at a static water speed of 8 knots. It can meet the requirements of intelligent energy efficiency and provide auxiliary decision-making and suggestions for ship energy efficiency management.
This type of tugboat meets the operational requirements along the harbor area and is suitable for coastal navigation and assisting container ships, bulk carriers, and other ships in docking and entering docks in the harbor area. It is classified by the China Classification Society.
This signed project is another collaboration between Fujian Shipping Administration and Xiamen Port Shipping Co., Ltd., responding to the call of the Provincial Party Committee and Government to jointly promote the construction of electric ship demonstration projects. It is also a concrete manifestation of the company's deep practice of green development concept and assistance in achieving the "dual carbon" goal. Next, Fujian Shipbuilding Administration will accelerate the technological innovation in the field of electric ships, further create a "Fujian sample" of electric ships, and contribute to the high-quality development of Fujian's marine economy.
Excluding the latest orders, Clarkson's data shows that at present, Southeast Shipbuilding holds 26 orders totaling 4173200 deadweight tons, including 17 oil tankers, 5 offshore factory ship and 4 container ships. The delivery date is scheduled to 2026.
