The first domestic 10000 ton methanol dual fuel inland bulk carrier is named

On October 21st, the first 10000 ton methanol dual fuel comprehensive electric propulsion inland bulk carrier "Guoneng Changjiang 01" in China held a naming and delivery ceremony in Hubei, taking an important step towards promoting the development of green and intelligent ships in inland shipping.
The "Guoneng Changjiang 01" vessel is invested by Guoneng Far Sea Shipping (Wuhan) Co., Ltd., developed and designed by Wuhan Changjiang Shipbuilding Design Institute Co., Ltd., and built by Hubei Hechuang Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. The ship started construction on June 29, 2023 and was launched on May 16, 2024. On June 27th, the ship completed its first "dock tanker" green methanol fuel refueling.
This refueling lasted for 2.5 hours, with a one-time injection of 33 tons of ISCC EU certified green methanol, achieving a zero breakthrough in methanol fuel injection for domestic Yangtze River inland ships.
The "Guoneng Changjiang 01" ship is an important practice of Guoneng Shipping actively responding to the "136" development strategy of the group company, driven by technological innovation, and accelerating the development of new quality productivity. As the standard ship type for transportation vessels in the Chuanjiang and Three Gorges Reservoir areas, the "Guoneng Changjiang 01" ship is 130 meters long, 16.26 meters wide, 7.98 meters deep, with a designed cargo capacity of 10850 tons. It has been classified by the China Classification Society and has obtained the first domestic inspection certificate for a 10000 ton methanol dual fuel ship in the inland river. It has also obtained green intelligent additional marks such as "Green Ship II, Intelligent Engine Room, Intelligent Energy Efficiency Management, Intelligent Integration Platform", and is equipped with a low-voltage shore power system.
In terms of technology, the "Guoneng Changjiang 01" vessel adopts the internationally leading DC integrated power system core technology from Hubei Donghu Laboratory. Its power system is powered by a hybrid of methanol dual fuel power generation and lithium batteries, including four 620 kW methanol dual fuel twelve phase rectifier generator sets, two 500 kWh lithium batteries, and two 1000 kW propulsion motors, achieving comprehensive localization of the entire ship's power system. This configuration enables the ship to demonstrate good adaptability to the special operating conditions of the Yangtze River route in different seasons, different segments, and with drastic changes in the power of loading and unloading.
By comprehensively applying methods such as speed optimization, unit speed optimization, power source type and quantity optimization, ships can carry out energy optimization control for the entire ship, ensuring that the power system always works at the optimal efficiency point under different operating conditions, thereby improving the operating efficiency and economy of the system in the entire operating range, effectively reducing energy consumption and emissions. By implementing online intelligent monitoring of ship energy efficiency, optimizing speed, and diagnosing faults, the operational efficiency and management level of ships have been significantly improved.
In addition, the "Guoneng Changjiang 01" vessel has also obtained two technical invention patents with independent intellectual property rights, namely "Energy Efficiency Optimization Control Strategy for Methanol Diesel Dual Fuel Generator Set" and "Optimization Adjustment Method for Power Output Power of Ship AC Distribution Network".
