Dalian Shipbuilding builds the second 175000 cubic meter LNG ship for China Merchants Shipping, leaving the dock
On October 28th, China Shipbuilding Corporation Dalian Shipbuilding successfully completed the docking of the 175000 cubic meter LNG transport ship No. 2 (G175K-2) built for China Merchants Shipping.
The ship has a total length of approximately 295 meters, a width of 46.4 meters, a depth of 26.2 meters, a designed draft of 11.5 meters, a designed service speed of 19.5 knots, an empty weight of approximately 36298 tons, and a total cargo hold capacity of 175000 cubic meters. It can dock at most large LNG shore stations worldwide and has excellent port suitability and ship shore compatibility, with strong market competitiveness.
During the construction period of the dock, the General Assembly Department and LNG Operation Department actively planned and reasonably arranged various construction plans. Compared with the first ship, the construction period in the dock was shortened by 28 days, and the integrity of the sections was good. The outfitting equipment matching rate was high, and the early section reserve was sufficient, laying a good foundation for continuous closure in the later stage. In terms of the construction of the cargo enclosure system, the out of dock status has significantly improved compared to the first ship status, and all construction supporting systems for 2/3 of the cargo hold have been completed. The installation and commissioning of the HSSE system have also been completed. The pump tower base has been measured in advance, with approximately 350 insulation boards installed in the 3rd cargo hold and 200 boards installed in the 2nd cargo hold.
After the ship leaves the dock, it officially enters the underwater construction stage. The construction team will make every effort to promote the commissioning of the entire ship's equipment, the construction of the low-temperature system and cargo enclosure system, to ensure the timely achievement of Dalian Shipbuilding's annual target tasks.
