New Yangtze Shipbuilding delivers SEASPAN dual fuel 7000TEU container ship

On December 11th, the 14th LNG dual fuel 7000TEU container ship "ZIM ALEXANDRITE" built by New Yangtze Shipbuilding of Yangtze River Shipbuilding Group for shipowners SEASPAN and ZIM, was unloaded from the shipyard terminal and delivered for operation in the ZIM fleet.
The ship was ignited and started construction at the end of November 2023. It entered the dock for loading in mid May 2024, exited the dock in mid September, and successfully completed the trial voyage on November 26. All test results met the design standards. With the joint efforts of the on-site supervision team of the shipowner company, DNV classification society, and the shipyard staff, the construction was successfully completed.
On the morning of December 10th, Yangtze River Shipbuilding Group, SEASPAN, and Yixing Shipping jointly held a grand naming ceremony for this ship. Ms. Tracy Hui, Mr. Hua Xiangqian, President of Yixing Shipping China, Mr. Su Xiaohua, Project Manager of SEASPAN Asset Management Department, Ms. Yan Xiaolin, General Manager of DNV North China, as well as Mr. Du Chengzhong, Deputy General Manager of Yangtze River Shipbuilding Group and General Manager of New Yangtze Shipbuilding, Mr. Ji Hongfei, Deputy General Manager of the Group, Mr. Ni Rong, Deputy General Manager of New Yangtze Shipbuilding, and other leaders and guests attended the naming ceremony together.
Ms. Tracy Hui named the new ship "ZIM ALEXANDRITE" and cut ropes, threw champagne, and boarded the ship with guests for a visit. The whistle rings, wishing the new ship and its crew safe sailing, bringing honor and wealth to the shipowner and lessee.
On the morning of December 10th, the day of naming, the "ZIM ALEXANDRITE" round was signed and delivered. Mr. Nan Xiangfu, the on-site manager of SEASPAN in New Yangtze Shipbuilding, and Mr. Du Chengzhong, the deputy general manager of Yangtze River Shipbuilding Group and general manager of New Yangtze Shipbuilding, respectively signed the delivery documents on behalf of both parties.
