Wuhu Shipyard wins the first national order for 400TEU river sea direct pure electric container ship

On July 13th, SanDian Shui New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Wuhu Shipyard, and Zhejiang Zhonghuai Zhou Shipping Technology Co., Ltd. held a signing ceremony for the construction of a 400TEU river sea direct pure electric container ship in Wuhu.

The 400TEU river sea direct pure electric container ship is the first of its kind in China. Two ships were signed this time, with a total length of 104.68 meters, a width of 19 meters, and a design speed of 20 kilometers per hour. The ship is equipped with 10 ship type containerized batteries as power sources, with a battery capacity of 20000 kWh, and adopts a battery swapping mode to achieve pure electric navigation throughout the entire journey. After completion, the ship will be put into operation on the Yangshan Deepwater Port to Taicang Port route.

Wuhu Shipyard actively implements the "Implementation Opinions on Accelerating the Green and Intelligent Development of Inland River Ships" issued by the Ministry of Transport and five other ministries, and leads the new energy ship industry (SanDian Shui New Energy Ship Technology Company), focusing on the core technology of four electricity and ship hydrogen energy engine technology, and laying out the upstream and downstream industrial chain. By using the "Electric Yangtze River" as the entry point, we will reconstruct the relationship between "people, goods, ships, and fields", build a full scenario digital operation platform, and create smart water transportation logistics collaboration, smart energy, and carbon trading platforms. In the future, Sanshui New Energy will seize trillion level market opportunities such as the construction of a national transportation power, major equipment upgrades and replacements, and the exchange of old for new consumer goods. With a target output value of billions and a market value of billions, and supported by new models and technologies, it will create a blue growth level in Anhui.

It is reported that as a new energy sector under Wuhu Shipyard, Sanshui Water New Energy Technology (Anhui) Co., Ltd. was established in October 2023 and officially unveiled in April this year. It is the first cutting-edge technology enterprise in China to focus on the design, research and development, manufacturing, and promotion of green and intelligent ships for inland and offshore areas.
