Hangtong Shipbuilding Industry has completed the second trial voyage of a 7999 ton dual fuel refueling vessel

On July 12th, the 7999DWT dual fuel refueling bow vessel "AMALTHEA" built by Jiangmen Hangtong Shipbuilding Industry successfully completed its oil and gas two in one trial voyage.
The "AMALTHEA" vessel has a total length of 103.88 meters, a width of 19 meters, a depth of 10 meters, a design draft of 7.2 meters, and a carrying capacity of 7999 tons. It is classified by the French Classification Society (BV) and is suitable for transporting fuel, gasoline, and other petroleum products listed in MARPOL Appendix I. The ship is equipped with dual engines and twin propellers, with a bulbous bow and a vertical square tail, and has a continuous freeboard deck. The LNG storage tank on the deck has a capacity of approximately 100 cubic meters. Among them, the cargo hold area adopts a double shell structure and is equipped with a central longitudinal wall. A transverse bulkhead is set up to divide the cargo hold into 5 pairs of cargo oil tanks and 2 sewage oil tanks, with a total volume of about 8450 cubic meters, meeting the fuel supply requirements of various operating vessels in complex waters along the coasts of Singapore and Southeast Asia.
The propulsion system of the ship adopts YANMAR dual fuel main engine, which can use both fuel and natural gas. In fuel mode, the ship's endurance can reach 4000 nautical miles, and in gas mode, the endurance is 1130 nautical miles. The vessel adopts a gas safe engine room, and the engine room gas supply system adopts a double wall pipe design, significantly enhancing gas safety while improving the shipowner's flexibility in equipment use; The emissions of the host in gas mode meet the EEDI Phase III requirements. In addition, it has the environmental classification symbol CLEAN SHIP GREEN PASSPORT、BWT; At the same time, it has the class symbol AUT-UMS and a high degree of automation.
This trial voyage involves more than 40 tests, including engine load testing and EEDI testing, bow thruster, inertia and emergency reverse, ship turning, gas mode switching, unmanned engine room under oil and gas mode, cargo oil pump, etc. The main performance indicators meet the technical specifications and regulatory requirements, achieving the expected design goals.
