See the big ship carrying the small boat again! COSCO SHIPPING Special Transport "Xin Guang Hua" Ship Floating Loading 17 Ships

On August 18th, the 100000 ton semi submersible vessel "Xin Guanghua" of COSCO Shipping successfully completed 17 vessel floating operations through three dives in Nantong and Singapore, and sailed from Singapore to Guinea.
The "Xin Guang Hua" vessel is carrying out a transportation mission for engineering ships of Singapore's Weili International Group. The total weight of 17 ships is 23300 tons, and they will go to Guinea, West Africa to serve Weili International's mining development projects in the local area. The number of ships loaded this time is numerous and the types are complex, including 2 floating cranes, 6 barges, and 9 tugboats. A total of 17 ships, big and small, are stacked on top of the main deck of the "New Guanghua" ship, which is magnificent.
A single ship can load 17 vessels at once. Considering the limited space for loading, unloading, and tying operations, ships that load later will inevitably have greater loading difficulties. In order to leave enough space for subsequent "boarding" ships to maneuver, the loading and unloading sequence and steps need to be designed reasonably to ensure that everything is foolproof. This is not only a paper test of "hard power" for freight technical engineers, but also imposes almost strict requirements on port captains who command operations on site.
In order to safely and smoothly complete this difficult transportation task, the COSCO Shipping Special Transport Ship Shore Team has carefully coordinated and planned: closely monitoring the climate and hydrological information of Nantong and Singapore, and scientifically formulating loading and unloading plans through precise calculations; Organize multiple meetings with relevant parties to discuss and analyze the details of the plan, carefully evaluate each link, predict risk points one by one, and propose countermeasures; A schematic diagram of the placement of binding components was prepared in advance and sent to the ship, providing detailed guidance to the crew on preparing the cabin; Reasonable coordination was carried out on board, and precise construction was carried out according to the drawings. Overtime work was done to lay 869 wooden pads, fix 1436 bolts with holes and weld seams, and weld 1056 angle steels. High quality spare compartments not only effectively avoided the risk of cargo and binding parts touching, ensuring the safety of loading operations, but also greatly saved subsequent binding time.
The professional skills and dedicated attitude of the shore team of COSCO Shipping's special transport ships have laid a solid foundation for the smooth loading of 17 engineering vessels. With the joint efforts of all parties, the "Xin Guang Hua" vessel successfully floated 17 ships through three diving operations in Nantong and Singapore, and received high recognition from customers for its high-quality service.
