The third ship of the new year! Beihai Shipbuilding delivers CMB bulk carrier ahead of schedule
On January 22nd, China Shipbuilding North Sea Shipbuilding and China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC), as joint sellers, held a naming ceremony for the "MINERAL OSTERREICH" vessel, a 210000 ton ammonia ready bulk carrier built for Belgian company CMB.
Thomas De Graef, Technical Manager of CMB.TECH, Zhou Yinghui, Special Affairs Officer of the Second Department of China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation, and Hao Dawei, Deputy Director of the North Sea Shipbuilding Operation Department, signed the delivery agreement on behalf of the three parties at the delivery ceremony.
The "Mineral Osterreich" vessel was designed by China Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (CSIC) Ship Design and Research Center Co., Ltd. It has a total length of 299.95 meters, a width of 50 meters, a depth of 25.2 meters, a load capacity of 210761.1 tons, a service speed of 14.58 knots, and is classified under LR classification society. During the trial voyage, it was verified that all indicators of speed, fuel consumption, and maneuverability exceeded the contract standards, and the performance reached the international advanced level. The EEDI index was 34.40% lower than the baseline value, meeting the phase III emission requirements.
Beihai Shipbuilding firmly establishes the concept of lean management, promotes the implementation and effectiveness of lean management, and takes the 48th ship as a demonstration project for lean improvement. A special promotion team is established with dedicated teams to promote and implement the "three connections, one row, four machines, one furnace" project and the "turnkey" project before lifting in the living building dock. The integrity score of the dock and the overall integrity score of the living building have been further improved. The ship completed all shipowner and classification society opinions in just 11 days after its trial voyage, and finally achieved completion and delivery 67 days ahead of the contract period.
