CIMC Pacific Offshore Engineering starts construction of a 20,000-cubic-meter LNG transport and bunkering vessel

On July 21, Nantong CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering Co., Ltd. held a groundbreaking ceremony for another 20,000 cubic meter LNG bunkering vessel (hull number: S1123) built for Avenir LNG Limited at the West Zone Manufacturing Department workshop. This is CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering's second newbuilding order from the shipowner after successfully delivering four vessels to Avenir LNG, marking a further deepening of cooperation between the two parties.
Avenir LNG's Technical Manager Tom, Project Manager Ber, Site Manager Anders, CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering's Deputy General Manager of Shipbuilding Division Chen Bin, Director of Quality Assurance Department Na Xiaobin, Executive Deputy Director of Shipbuilding Project Management Department Yan Kai, and other company leaders and project team members jointly witnessed the event.
It is understood that the 20,000 cubic meter LNG bunkering vessel is one of the main types of LNG bunkering vessels globally. The vessel has an overall length of 160 meters, a molded breadth of 25 meters, and a design speed of 15.5 knots. It is equipped with a WINGD dual-fuel main engine with iCER technology and can be optionally fitted with a high-voltage shore power system, significantly reducing pollution and greenhouse gas emissions throughout the vessel's lifecycle. This directly addresses the increasingly stringent environmental requirements of the global shipping industry.
The successful commencement of the S1123 vessel marks another important milestone in the long-term, trusting cooperation between CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering and Avenir LNG. CIMC Pacific Ocean Engineering will continue to ensure the project's successful delivery with superb craftsmanship and efficient management, contributing to the low-carbon transformation of the global shipping industry!
