Recently, MSC Cruises announced it has signed an order for two new World Class luxury cruise ships with Chantiers de l'Atlantique, bringing the total number of LNG-powered World Class ships in the MSC Cruises fleet to six.
The fifth and sixth ships, World Class 5 and World Class 6, will be delivered in 2029 and 2030 respectively. The price of the order was not disclosed, but French media estimates the total value of the two new luxury cruise ships at €3.5 billion (approximately RMB 28.63 billion).
Pierfrancesco Vago, Executive Chairman of MSC Cruises, stated: “The signing of the order for two new World Class cruise ships marks another important step in our extraordinary journey in French shipbuilding and confirms the continued progress of our long-term industrial plan.
