Zhenjiang Shipyard delivers second 15600-ton new type of special wind power installation vessel
On July 16, 2025, two months ahead of schedule, the second new type of special marine wind power equipment installation and transportation vessel, built by Zhenjiang Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd. in Jiangsu Province for the Dutch shipowner Amasus Shipping, was completed and delivered, successfully setting sail. This marks Zhenjiang Shipyard's successful entry into the high-end European offshore engineering market.
Mr. Arend-Jan Rozema, General Manager of Amasus Shipping; Mr. Guo Yan, Chairman of Zhenjiang Shipyard; and Mr. Fan Dehong, Operation Director of RINA, attended the delivery ceremony as representatives of the shipowner, shipyard, and classification society.
The vessel, classed by RINA, is 167.6 meters long, 26 meters wide, and has a deck area of approximately 3500 square meters. With its ultra-large carrying capacity, intelligent loading and unloading system, and green and low-carbon technology, it perfectly meets the transportation needs of the next generation of ultra-large offshore wind power equipment. The launch of this vessel will promote the upgrading and replacement of global offshore wind power transportation equipment.
The vessel is the first to feature a 1500-ton heavy-duty stern gate and positioning pile system, equipped with three Liebherr cranes, allowing for efficient loading and unloading of giant wind power components at restricted wharves. Its unique gantry multi-layer loading technology enables flexible loading of various specifications of cargo in a single voyage, significantly improving transportation efficiency. The combination of hydrodynamically optimized hull lines and Wärtsilä intelligent propulsion system, coupled with main engine freshwater heat recovery technology, achieves a breakthrough result of reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions by 15%, and is the first to meet the IMO Tier 3 highest environmental protection standards.
The vessel's superior loading and transportation capabilities, and excellent energy-saving and environmentally friendly performance, will provide important equipment support for the global offshore wind power industry and contribute to the development of green energy. At the same time, it further demonstrates Zhenjiang Shipyard's strength in the field of high-end shipbuilding and consolidates its leading position in the international offshore engineering vessel market.
It is understood that in recent years, Zhenjiang Shipyard has seized the opportunity of the transformation and adjustment of the shipbuilding and offshore engineering market, relying on its technological advantages accumulated over nearly 30 years in the field of special marine engineering vessels and the construction experience of more than 100 high-end offshore engineering products, and has vigorously developed the international offshore engineering vessel market, creating a record high in orders for offshore engineering vessels.
From January to July this year, Zhenjiang Shipyard received new orders for 31 offshore engineering vessels, a 34% increase year-on-year, and currently has more than 60 vessels on hand, with vessel delivery extending to 2028.
