The Haiyou Engineering pipelaying crane vessel 'Marine Oil 202' arrived in Brunei
On July 27, the pipelay and heavy lift vessel "Marine Oil 202" successfully berthed at Muara Port, Brunei, and is about to start the Brunei BSP PRP9 pipeline replacement project. This is the vessel's first operation in Brunei, which is of great significance to enhancing the international operation capabilities of China's large-scale marine engineering vessels.
As China's first domestically designed and built non-self-propelled shallow-water pipelay and heavy lift vessel, "Marine Oil 202" can perform pipelaying operations of 4 to 60 inches in water depths ranging from 8 to 300 meters. Since its delivery in 2009, its voyages have covered the Bohai Sea, East China Sea, South China Sea, and West African waters, completing more than 80 projects, laying 124 submarine pipelines with a total length exceeding 1500 kilometers, and repeatedly breaking domestic records for submarine pipeline laying by moored vessels.
On June 20 this year, after completing the Weizhou project, "Marine Oil 202" entered the overseas modification phase for the Brunei project. With the close cooperation of the fleet management team and the project team, it took only 20 days to complete the crane inspection and certification, replacement of the working anchor winch soft cable, and modification of some facilities in the living area.
After berthing at the Zhuhai Fuluchonggong Wharf, all crew members raced against time, efficiently completing the loading of project equipment and materials, and the installation, debugging, and securing of equipment from various units within 72 hours, finally setting sail on schedule on July 17.

This towage operation coincided with the typhoon season in the South China Sea. To ensure safe navigation, the ship's team conducted in-depth analysis of meteorological data and scientifically planned the towage route and typhoon avoidance plan; at the same time, they strengthened the binding and securing of ship equipment and materials to minimize the risks of strong winds during long-distance voyages, providing reliable guarantees for the safe and timely arrival of the vessel.
It is understood that the "Marine Oil 202" will undertake the laying of one 12-inch pipeline of approximately 26 kilometers and the replacement of one structure (single point).
Next, the "Marine Oil 202" will focus on safety and efficiency, and will strive to promote offshore construction operations and showcase China's marine engineering capabilities in the international market.
