The main engine of the No. 4 bulk carrier (82,000 DWT) at the Zhaoshan Industry Qingdao Shipyard was successfully started.
On August 10, the main engine of the 82000DWT bulk carrier -04 under construction at the COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Qingdao) shipyard successfully started. This key milestone marks the completion of key debugging of the ship's core power system, and it is about to enter a more comprehensive stage of equipment joint debugging and sea trial preparation.
Before the main engine start-up, the project team carefully developed a special construction and debugging plan for auxiliary equipment and related systems involving water, gas, oil, and electricity. They tracked the progress and implementation daily, and scientifically coordinated construction manpower resources to ensure the orderly advancement of all preparatory work.

This vessel is the final one of four 82,000 DWT bulk carriers jointly built by COSCO Shipping Heavy Industry (Qingdao) shipyard and Norway's SeaTankers. Previously, the company successfully delivered two sister ships to the shipowner, winning high recognition from the shipowner for their excellent energy consumption performance and stable overall performance. To ensure the successful completion of the project and further consolidate and deepen the cooperation with the shipowner, the No. 4 vessel actively promoted technological optimization and process improvement in various construction stages, and through strengthened plan management, achieved a double improvement in construction quality and efficiency.
Next, the project team will accelerate the remaining debugging work according to the established plan, making every effort to lay a solid foundation for the timely sea trial and to deliver the vessel to the shipowner in optimal condition.
