Imabari Shipbuilding delivers another 64,000-ton bulk carrier
Recently, the Shinkasado Shipyard under Imabari Shipbuilding in Japan delivered the 64,000 DWT bulk carrier "CORAL HALO" built for Nikko Kisen.
The ship has an overall length of 199.98 meters, a width of 32.24 meters, a depth of 19.30 meters, a deadweight of 63,541 tons, a gross tonnage of 36,278 tons, powered by a 6S50ME-C9.7 main engine, with a service speed of about 14.0 knots, classed by the Japan Classification Society, and flies the Panama flag.
"CORAL HALO" is a large handy bulk carrier compliant with the Common Structural Rules (CSR BC&OT), featuring a large open cargo hold design for easy loading and unloading. The deck is equipped with four cranes, enabling cargo handling even at ports without cargo handling facilities.
In addition to grains and coal, the ship can transport high-density cargoes such as iron ore and cement, as well as manufactured goods like steel coils and long steel products. High propulsion performance is achieved through the use of energy-saving devices near the propeller, efficient propellers, and hull coatings that reduce frictional resistance with seawater.
The onboard equipment complies with the MARPOL Convention regulations on preventing air pollution, and the ship's Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI) meets the requirements of Phase 3 ahead of schedule. It is also equipped with a ballast water treatment system and holds an Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM).
