Hudong-Zhonghua delivers the 7th LNG ship built for Qatar's "100 Ships Plan"
On August 25, Hudong-Zhonghua meticulously delivered the 174,000 cubic meter large LNG carrier "FAT'H AL KHAIR" built for QatarEnergy's "100-Ship Project."
CLNG General Manager Cong Jian, CSTC Ship and Sea Business Department III Senior Executive Chen Rui, and the company's LNG Deputy Chief Constructor Huang Huabing signed the delivery documents on behalf of the three parties. Adrian Bray, Technical Supervisor of QatarEnergy's on-site supervision team, signed the charter authorization contract with shipowner representative Cong Jian on behalf of the charterer. The vessel will set sail and commence operations soon.
The "FAT'H AL KHAIR" is the 52nd LNG carrier built by Hudong-Zhonghua. As the third ship of QatarEnergy's Phase II project, the vessel's dock period was only 8 months, setting the shortest dock construction record for LNG carriers in the QatarEnergy project. The company has established the QatarEnergy project as a benchmark model for international green shipping equipment through outstanding construction performance.
Six ships from the QatarEnergy "100-Ship Project" series have already been put into operation. Among them, the first ship of Phase II, "AL TUWAR," has successfully completed two voyages, and the second ship, "AL MAS'HABIYYAH," is currently on its first cargo voyage. The shipowner has praised Hudong-Zhonghua for the excellent quality and outstanding performance of the vessels built.
It is understood that this series of ships is the fifth-generation "Changheng" series LNG carriers independently designed, developed, and built by Hudong-Zhonghua. The vessels have a total length of 299 meters, a beam of 46.4 meters, and a depth of 26.25 meters. They adopt the latest generation of twin stern fin lines and are equipped with multiple low-carbon and digital technologies and equipment, integrating the latest design concepts, optimal technical equipment, and strongest environmental performance. They are classed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and China Classification Society (CCS).
