On September 26, CSSC Huangpu Wenchong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., in collaboration with China State Shipbuilding & Trade Corporation (CSTC), successfully completed the signing of ship delivery documents for the lead vessel "HMM Narae" (H2516)—a 38,000-ton multi-purpose heavy-lift ship built for South Korea's largest shipping company, HMM—via a cloud-based delivery ceremony held simultaneously in Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Seoul. On the same day, the third vessel in the series, H2518, was successfully launched, marking a seamless integration of the "delivery" and "launching" milestones.
The 38,000-ton multi-purpose heavy-lift vessel delivered this time measures 182 meters in overall length, with a molded breadth of 30 meters and a molded depth of 16 meters. It is equipped with three cargo holds, hydraulic folding hatch covers, lift-type hatch covers, two 400-ton cranes, one 200-ton crane, and fan-shaped duct systems, among other advanced features. This vessel can flexibly handle the loading of large-scale engineering equipment, containers, and various other types of cargo. Notably, it boasts high cruising speed and exceptional fuel efficiency, earning high praise from the shipowner for its outstanding construction quality.
Just before the project delivery, Typhoon No. 18 "Hagupit" made landfall in Guangdong this year. Facing this challenge, all departments within the company worked closely together, seamlessly integrating typhoon preparedness efforts with production activities. This ensured that both the ship delivery and the launching milestones were achieved on schedule, fully demonstrating Huangpu Wenchong's time-tested ability to tackle tough tasks and stay firmly focused on its goals—laying a solid foundation for successfully completing the year’s vessel delivery targets.
