Another record broken! Guangzhou Shipbuilding International successfully completes trial voyage of yet another car carrier.
On the morning of October 16, the second LNG dual-fuel car carrier built by Guangzhou Shipyard International, a subsidiary of China State Shipbuilding Corporation, successfully completed its sea trial and returned safely. The vessel departed for trials on the morning of October 13 and returned to Guangzhou Shipyard International's shipyard dock by the morning of October 16, once again setting a new record for trials among ships of the same type. This achievement marks another significant milestone for Guangzhou Shipyard International as it gears up for a strong finish in the fourth quarter.
The vessel underwent rigorous acceptance inspections during the dock construction phase, strictly adhering to the "Six-Section Closure" protocol, which significantly enhanced its overall integrity upon exiting the dock. This laid a solid foundation for subsequently shortening the dockyard construction timeline and ensuring timely sea trials as scheduled.
On the eve of the ship's sea trial, consecutive typhoon weather conditions have brought numerous adverse impacts to production. To ensure the successful completion of the trial milestone, the project team proactively assessed potential risks, developed a detailed, tailored response plan, and flexibly optimized the commissioning schedule. They seized every available weather window, strategically concentrating resources to accelerate progress—while meticulously maintaining the quality and safety of critical system debugging throughout the process.
Before the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holidays arrived, the project team proactively communicated thoroughly with all collaborating organizations and ensured ample supplies were in place, enabling seamless coordination across all tasks.
By implementing a series of precise and effective control measures, the ship successfully secured each of its critical milestones, smoothly achieving both oil-mode and gas-mode main engine operation during the National Day holiday period. It also earned an impressive score of 97.00 points in the trial voyage transition phase review.
Thanks to the full cooperation of the shipowner and the classification society, as well as the seamless collaboration among all internal departments within the company, coupled with the project team's continuous optimization of the trial voyage inspection process, the vessel successfully completed all its trial voyage tasks efficiently and with high quality.
