Recently, Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding has been making headlines with a series of impressive ship delivery milestones. On October 15, the 174,000-cubic-meter large LNG carrier "Yuanhai FenJin," part of the Sinochem Petroleum project, was officially signed over and delivered—marking the delivery of two vessels within just three days. Yan Min, General Manager of Shanghai Liquefied Natural Gas Operations Management Department; Ding Tian'an, Business Manager of the Third Marine Business Division at CSSC Trading; and Shen Jie, Deputy Director of the Second Assembly Department/Enclosure Systems Department at Hudong-Zhonghua, jointly signed the delivery documents.
The "Yuanhai Fenjin" is the first vessel built by Hudong-Zhonghua for Sinochem Petroleum, independently developed and designed by Hudong-Zhonghua itself. It has a total length of 295 meters, a molded breadth of 45 meters, and a molded depth of 26.25 meters, with a rated speed of 19.5 knots. The ship is classed by both the China Classification Society (CCS) and the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS).
Hudong-Zhonghua has actively responded to the nation's call, advancing the independent control of critical core equipment and materials. On this vessel, they have pioneered the pilot use of domestically produced LNG cryogenic butterfly valves, cryogenic expansion joints, and other key components of the低温 system. At the same time, they have innovatively adopted a collaborative power architecture featuring a domestically made propeller paired with a domestically produced SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) system, effectively reducing overall energy consumption while further boosting the ship's domestic content rate.
Hudong-Zhonghua firmly upholds the principle of "building national ships with domestic resources," consistently supporting the nation's energy development strategy and contributing Chinese expertise to the global energy transition.
