China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard Delivers Its 8th 5,900-TEU Container Ship
On November 10, China Merchants Industry's Qingdao Shipyard held a signing ceremony for the delivery of the second 5,900-TEU container ship, "GREENHOUSE," built for Greece's DANAOS Corporation. Markakis, Asia Newbuilding Manager at DANAOS; Pagonis, the on-site supervisor; and Peng Sheng, Executive Deputy General Manager of the company, attended the ceremony.
During the ship's construction, the project team fully leveraged the experience gained from previous vessel builds, continuously optimizing process flows, refining technical details, and strengthening quality control in areas such as outfitting, painting, and installation. As a result, the ship achieved breakthroughs in key performance areas—including navigational stability, fuel efficiency, and environmental protection—earning high praise from the shipowner.
The successful delivery of the "GREENHOUSE" sets a solid foundation for Qingdao Shipyard and DANAOS to further deepen their collaboration, while also strengthening Qingdao Shipyard’s stable delivery capabilities and competitive edge in the mass production of medium-sized container vessels.
