Guangzhou Shipbuilding International Delivers First LNG Dual-Fuel Vessel Built for EPS
On November 12, Guangzhou Shipyard International delivered the first of two 111,000-ton LNG dual-fuel crude oil/product oil tankers built for Singapore’s Eastern Pacific Shipping Pte. Ltd. (referred to as EPS)—the vessel named "ATLANTIC PEARL"—marking a significant early completion ahead of the contractually agreed delivery date. Sergey Rogov, head of the EPS team stationed at the shipyard, Kang Youping, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Shipyard International, and Cao Naiwen, Business Manager at CSSC Trade, attended the ceremony and jointly signed the交接船 documents on behalf of their respective organizations.
The shipowner of this project, EPS, is a globally renowned international shipping company headquartered in Singapore, and it is currently one of the largest privately owned shipping companies in the world.
This project involves a series of eight vessels—new-generation LNG dual-fuel LR2 tankers independently designed and developed by Guang船 International. They feature dual-fuel propulsion powered by both marine fuel oil and LNG, with an overall length of 250 meters, a molded breadth of 44 meters, a structural draft of 14.7 meters, and a deadweight tonnage of approximately 111,000 tons. The vessels are capable of cruising at a service speed of 14.5 knots, while their emission standards fully meet the stringent IMO TIER III requirements. Additionally, their EEDI energy efficiency index has reached Phase III, making them notable for their fast sailing speed, lightweight lightship weight, low fuel consumption, and excellent adaptability to various operational needs.
Throughout the years, Guangzhou Shipyard International has closely followed the market demands for various types of oil tankers, continuously refining its technical designs and leveraging its extensive shipbuilding experience. This has significantly enhanced the company's ability to control shipbuilding timelines, earning high praise from shipowners. With the delivery of this project, Guangzhou Shipyard International has further demonstrated its strength in the design and construction of oil tanker products, effectively boosting the company's influence in the global market.
