Several Zhejiang shipyards secure orders! Fujian shipowners place bulk orders for container vessels.
Recently, several new container ship construction projects in Fujian have completed registration, with multiple Zhejiang-based shipyards—including Donghong Shipbuilding, Zhenxing Shipbuilding, and Boda Shipbuilding—securing orders in this round, totaling more than RMB 600 million.
Among these projects, Zhejiang Donghong Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is undertaking the construction of a 3,300-TEU container vessel for Xiamen Shengyuan Shipping Co., Ltd. The vessel has a total length of 197.00 meters, a molded breadth of 34.80 meters, and a deadweight of approximately 63,100 tonnes. The total investment amounts to RMB 218 million, with construction scheduled to commence in March 2026 and be completed by September 2027. The vessel is being built in accordance with the standards of the China Classification Society, featuring green and environmentally friendly design, excellent seaworthiness, and full compliance with all currently promulgated national laws, industry codes, and international conventions.
Upon completion, this vessel will fully achieve digital, intelligent, high-end, and green operational objectives, enabling digital management of operational data to enhance precision and reduce management costs. Through the BRC unmanned engine room, AMPS, and G-EP/G-ECO (CDX) systems, intelligent control and monitoring will be realized, thereby improving navigation safety and energy efficiency. Moreover, the BWM ballast water management system and energy efficiency systems will ensure compliance with environmental regulations, reduce carbon emissions, and enable green, compliant operations.
Zhejiang Zhenxing Shipbuilding & Repair Co., Ltd. is undertaking the construction of a 3,600-TEU container vessel for Xiamen Yantianxiang Shipping Co., Ltd. The vessel has a total length of 213.00 meters, a molded breadth of 35.00 meters, and a deadweight of 51,000 metric tons, with a total investment of RMB 190 million. Built in accordance with the rules of the China Classification Society, the vessel has been awarded the “Gd-EP” additional notation for green and eco-friendly ship design. Construction is scheduled to commence in March 2026, with delivery planned for October 2027.
Adopting a modern shipbuilding philosophy that comprehensively considers environmental impact and resource-use efficiency, this vessel is a new-generation green ship characterized by “environmental friendliness, energy conservation and emission reduction, and safety and habitability.” It is equipped with a low-sulfur fuel system and exhaust-gas aftertreatment devices to comply with the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) latest emission regulations. The installation of a ballast-water treatment system and wastewater and waste collection and treatment facilities ensures environmentally friendly operations in marine environments. Furthermore, the vessel explores the potential for new-energy applications by pre-locating shore-power interfaces and space for energy-storage systems, thereby laying the foundation for future substitution with clean energy sources.
Ningbo Boda Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. is undertaking the construction of a 3,300-TEU container vessel for Xiamen Feihongsheng Shipping Co., Ltd. The vessel will have a total length of 197.00 meters, a molded breadth of 34.80 meters, a deadweight of 59,000 metric tons, and a main propulsion power of 9,700 kilowatts. The project involves an investment of RMB 206 million and is scheduled to commence in May 2026 with delivery expected in December 2027.
This vessel boasts a large deadweight capacity, strong cargo versatility, high cargo hold volume utilization, and excellent dimensions and hull form that optimize performance across multiple operating conditions. It also features low fuel consumption, high economic efficiency, and energy-saving, environmentally friendly equipment such as shaft-driven power generation systems and shore-power connection facilities. The main propulsion system is the 6UEC50LSH-Eco-C2-LPSCR, an advanced, high-efficiency, low-emission engine developed by Guangzhou Diesel Engine Co., Ltd. in collaboration with Mitsubishi. This model incorporates cutting-edge environmental technologies and optimized design, meeting increasingly stringent international emission standards, enhancing vessel energy efficiency, reducing pollutant emissions, and aligning with national industrial policies on green development, energy conservation, and emissions reduction.
