On June 4, Jiangsu New Era Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. reached another milestone in its production and operations, successfully completing three key milestones in a single day: the commencement of construction on two new vessels and the formal delivery of one newly built ship, thereby demonstrating its robust shipbuilding capabilities and highly efficient project management.

That morning, New Era Shipbuilding held two groundbreaking ceremonies for large oil tankers at the steel‑processing workshop in the New District. The first vessel to break ground was the 29# 159,000‑ton oil tanker, the fourth in a series built for Greek shipowner Dynacom. This ceremony marks a further deepening of cooperation between the two parties. The ship has an overall length of 274 meters, a molded breadth of 50 meters, a molded depth of 23.2 meters, a design draft of 16.1 meters, and a structural draft of 16.8 meters. It boasts a cargo capacity of 180,000 cubic meters and a deadweight tonnage of 159,000 tons.

Immediately afterward, the 83# 157,000‑dwt oil tanker also commenced construction with a successful ignition. The vessel is owned by Norway’s Frontline, and this launch marks the lead ship of a series. It has an overall length of 274.3 meters, a length between perpendiculars of 269.9 meters, a molded breadth of 48 meters, a molded depth of 23.2 meters, a design draft of 16 meters, and a structural draft of 17.15 meters. Its cargo hold capacity—including slop tanks and residual tanks—totals 172,000 cubic meters, with a deadweight tonnage of 157,000 tons.

That afternoon, New Times Shipbuilding once again announced good news. The signing and delivery ceremony for the 155,500‑ton dual‑fuel oil tanker No. 44, “MARAN MYRTO,” was successfully held in the eighth‑floor conference room of the office building. The vessel will be delivered to its owner, MARAN TANKERS MANAGEMENT INC., and put into service.

This delivery marks the second vessel in the shipowner’s 155,500‑ton dual‑fuel oil tanker series. The series features an overall length of 274.3 meters, a length between perpendiculars of 269.9 meters, a molded breadth of 48 meters, a molded depth of 23.2 meters, a design draft of 16 meters, and a structural draft of 17.15 meters. The cargo hold capacity, including the slop tank and residual tanks, is 172,000 cubic meters, with a deadweight tonnage of 155,500 tons.
