Dalian Shipbuilding's 175000 cubic meter LNG transport ship No. 9 starts construction

On December 16th, China Shipbuilding Corporation Dalian Shipbuilding started construction on the first 175000 cubic meter LNG carrier (G175K-9) for Shanghai COSCO Shipping LNG Investment Co., Ltd. and Sinopec Guande Holdings Co., Ltd.

The ship has a total length of 299.7 meters, a width of 46 meters, a depth of 26.2 meters, a designed draft of 11.5 meters, and a designed service speed of 19.5 knots. It is classified by DNV and CCS classification societies and independently developed by the Large Ship Research Institute. It integrates multiple cutting-edge technologies and achieves advanced performance in the industry. The cargo hold adopts the GTT Mark III Flex thin film cargo enclosure system scheme, with a daily natural evaporation rate as low as 0.085%, and is equipped with a cryogenic re liquefaction device, greatly improving the energy efficiency level of the ship. Designed according to the highest class classification symbol NAUT (OC) for one person to ensure its airworthiness in global navigation areas. In terms of environmental protection, it is equipped with dual fuel main and auxiliary engines and exhaust gas economizer, supporting mixed combustion mode, which can avoid additional energy consumption caused by forced evaporation of LNG tanks to a greater extent.
