Jiangxin Shipbuilding starts construction of a 67-meter passenger-roll-on/roll-off ship for Zhejiang East Transportation
On June 14th, a groundbreaking ceremony for a "67-meter passenger and roll-on/roll-off ferry" was held at the material preparation workshop of Jiangxi Jiangxin Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. The ferry is being built for Zhejiang Zhoushan Archipelago New Area Zhedong Transportation Investment and Development Co., Ltd. The ceremony was presided over by Liu Daoyan, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of the company.
Dai Qiguo, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Jiangxin Shipbuilding, delivered a welcome speech. Wang Chenghui, Chairman and General Manager of Zhejiang Zhoushan Archipelago New Area Zhedong Transportation Investment and Development Co., Ltd., gave a speech and announced the commencement of construction, marking the official start of construction for the "67-meter passenger and roll-on/roll-off ferry".
This passenger ship is a double-channel, twin-screw, square-stern Type III car and passenger ferry with an overall length of 67.30 meters, a molded breadth of 15.50 meters, and a molded depth of 4.65 meters; a design speed of 14.5 knots, and a cruising range of approximately 1000 nautical miles. After completion, the passenger and roll-on/roll-off ferry will be put into operation on the Liuheng Da'ao-Changzhi route, serving both passenger and vehicle transportation needs and contributing to the three-dimensional development of inter-island transportation.
