Zhāoshāng Industrial Qingdao Shipyard delivers second 82,000-ton bulk carrier
On June 15, the second 82,000 DWT bulk carrier built by China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard for Norway's Sea Tankers was delivered and departed. Following the delivery of the first vessel on May 24, this marks another key milestone in the project, signifying the project's entry into mature mass production.
Compared to the first vessel, the second vessel achieved improved delivery quality. The project team worked closely with the ship owner and classification society, thoroughly reviewing and learning from the experience of building the first vessel. Throughout the construction process, they steadily improved shipbuilding efficiency and quality by developing detailed construction plans and optimizing the collaborative processes of various disciplines. After sea trials, the vessel fully met the ship owner's requirements in terms of fuel economy and sailing stability, earning praise from both the ship owner and classification society.
During the closed-loop elimination phase of the sea trial comments before delivery, the project team strengthened process control and established a dynamic tracking mechanism. The sea trial comment list was accurately issued to each supervisor by discipline, clarifying the rectification responsibilities and technical standards. By holding daily cross-departmental coordination meetings to solve construction difficulties, the goal of zero-comment high-quality delivery was achieved.
This delivery not only consolidates the long-term cooperative relationship between China Merchants Industry Qingdao Shipyard and Norway's Sea Tankers, but also demonstrates the company's brand competitiveness in the field of medium and large bulk carriers. In the future, the company will continue to uphold the spirit of 'hard work, diligent work, and skillful work', continuously improve the construction capabilities of its three main ship types, and build more green and intelligent vessels.
