Hudong-Zhonghua delivers the sixth LNG carrier to Qatar project
On July 30, Hudong-Zhonghua delivered the 174,000 cubic meter LNG carrier "AL MAS'HABIYYAH," built for a Qatari energy project. This is the sixth LNG carrier delivered by Hudong-Zhonghua for Qatar's "100-ship plan," bringing the company's total LNG carrier deliveries to 51.
Cong Jian, General Manager of CLNG; Lu Xinwei, Deputy General Manager of the Third Department of CSTC's Marine Business; and Huang Huabing, Deputy Chief Constructor of LNG, signed the delivery documents on behalf of the three parties. Adrian Bray, technical supervisor of the Qatar Energy on-site supervision group, authorized the lease on behalf of the lessee to Cong Jian, the ship owner's representative. The ship is scheduled to be put into operation on July 31.
This vessel is the fifth-generation "Changheng" series LNG carrier independently designed and built by Hudong-Zhonghua. It has an overall length of 299 meters, a width of 46.4 meters, and a depth of 26.25 meters. It adopts the latest generation of double-skeg hull lines and is equipped with a number of low-carbon and digital technologies and equipment. It combines the latest design concepts, optimal technical equipment, and the strongest environmental protection performance, providing strong equipment support for the global energy transportation industry. It is classed by the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) and the China Classification Society (CCS).
During construction, Hudong-Zhonghua actively used lean tools to improve construction efficiency, continuously improving the integrity of the vessel upon launching and shortening the dock cycle, achieving early delivery. The company will continue to rely on technological innovation, intelligent manufacturing support, digital process optimization, and a series of lean improvement measures such as rapid dock loading to continuously optimize the construction cycle of series vessels and continuously improve product construction quality and efficiency.
